This course introduces young builders to the fundamentals of shapes, structure, and design through magnetic tile exploration. Over 12 weeks, students learn to recognize, name, and construct both 2D and 3D shapes while developing early STEM and fine motor skills. Each week builds on the last, moving from simple geometric discovery to complex collaborative construction.
Through hands-on play and guided challenges, children explore balance, symmetry, and design as they create everything from towers and bridges to entire neighborhoods. The combination of individual and collaborative work helps build confidence, communication, and empathy while reinforcing key geometry concepts.
Course is listed for ages 4 and up, but if you feel your younger or older learner would enjoy this course please reach out to discuss options.
Younger Learner Options:
Designed for students who are still developing shape recognition and motor coordination. Activities focus on hands-on exploration, color sorting, tracing, and building simple, recognizable forms.
Experienced Learner Options:
For students already confident identifying shapes. Extensions add problem-solving and design challenges such as counting shapes used, measuring height, symmetry exploration, and planning builds using blueprints or diagrams.
