(Individual class descriptions left below as well.)

Intro to Theatre & Dance is a collaborative class designed to give students a well-rounded foundation in both performance styles. Students will explore the basics of acting, storytelling, stage presence, and creative movement while also learning introductory dance technique and choreography.

This class blends theatre and dance in a supportive, high-energy environment that encourages confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Throughout the semester, students will work toward a short performance showcasing both skills.

  • Miss Gracie will choreograph the dance portions

  • Miss Mykaila will direct the theatrical elements

Theatre Portion (Miss Mykaila)

Perfect for students who love to perform, move, imagine, and try a little bit of everything on stage!

Intro to Theatre & Musical Theatre course offers students an exciting opportunity to learn the foundations of acting, musical theatre, ensemble work, and stage performance. Throughout the program, students will build confidence, develop teamwork skills, and explore creativity through hands-on theatre activities.

This session will culminate in a fully staged 45-minute production, giving students the experience of participating in a real show from start to finish. Because we are producing a published musical—likely We Are Monsters or another title from Beat by Beat Press.

There are important licensing and material requirements that impact program pricing. To deliver a high-quality, legally licensed production, several necessary costs are built into the course:

- Performance Rights & Licensing Fees: We must purchase the official performance rights for the 45-minute show. These fees allow us to legally perform the musical.

- Script & Material Packages for Every Student:
Each student receives their own script/vocal book, which must be purchased individually from the licensing company.

- Copyright & Logo Usage Fees:
These fees allow us to legally use the show’s logo, name, and promotional materials, as well as incorporate the official music tracks.

- Photography & Media Rights:
Licensing also covers permission to photograph rehearsals and performances for families and promotional purposes.

These ensure that we can present a professional, safe, and exciting theatre experience while respecting copyright law and supporting the writers, composers, and creators who make these shows possible.
