Known as a “flow art”, hoop dance is best known in the Native American culture using elaborate moves to tell stories. In this class, we will learn the basics of hoop dance and how it is connected to sacred geometry. We will practice tricks which will allow the building blocks for more advanced moves. We will learn a group choreography dance that includes new techniques and tricks. Each dancer will be provided an age/weight appropriate matching hoop for this class. Everyone can hoop dance! You just need the right hoop and the right teacher.
Sara Ratza has taught and performed hoop dance for over a decade. With a background in jazz dance, gymnastics, and choreography, she has taught lessons to all ages and had her own hoop troupe which performed for many events.
