The chess class for this semester will be a little different from the classes in previous semesters. I will divide the students into groups.
The first group is for beginners. Each class for this group includes group lessons, supervised game play, and personalized coaching. Children will learn various facets of the game of chess and play tournament-style games. At the end of each 12-week session for this group, there is a chess tournament with prizes.
The second group is for players who are familiar with the basics of chess. They will play chess tournaments. The session is 12 weeks long, so we are going to have 2 or 3 different tournaments. Everyone will receive a prize at the end of each tournament—trophies for 1st to 3rd place—and the rest of the players will receive medals.
The third group will be for students who just want to play chess for fun (no stress from chess tournaments). They will play only friendly games. Everyone from this group will receive a medal at the end of the session.
