Welcome to the world of clay and glazes. In this class I will be teaching hand building techniques such as slab, pinching, and some sculpting. I have numerous molds, stencils, and stamps to help create platters, plates, mugs, planters, and more. You will also learn glaze application through dipping, brushing, layering, and blowing.
We will start by following a structure of two clay project making classes followed by a glazing class. I may need to adjust this to an every other make and glaze class(this is a new format for me) so we will see what works best.
As with my other classes, students are free to create the project I have planned, alter it to personalize in any way, or create something completely unique. We should be able to create at least 8 finished and glazed pieces, and possibly more based on individual speed and size of the projects. The finished pieces are fully dishwasher/microwave/oven and food safe.
*Due to the expensive nature of glazes and kiln space, there will be some limit on the number and size of projects.
